MADAGASCAR, 5R8. Gerard, F2JD/5R8EN, is expected to be active from Nosy Be island, IOTA AF-57, until July 7 or 8 as 5R8EN/P. He will operate SSB and CW during free time. QSL via F6AJA.

OMAN, A4. Chris, G3VUO, is currently on Masirah Island, AS-014, and has obtained the call sign A45XL. He should be up and running very soon. This Omani island is located in the Arabian Sea Coast North Group.

FAROE ISLANDS, OY. Ingo, OY/SM0DSF, will be active until July 6. QSL via home call or the bureau. Greg, SQ6CWP, and Mario, SP6OJG, will be active on SSB and CW, as OY/SM6RXS until July 9. QSL via SM6RXS.

WESTERN SAMOA, 5W. Perry, WH6XY, will be active for a year as 5W1PC. He has been on 14226 kHz between 0130 and 0300z.

UK SOVEREIGN BASE, ZC4. PA0ERA and PA2HJS should be active until July 20 as ZC4EKJ, with emphasis on 6 meters.

ASCENSION ISLAND, ZD8. Jim, N6TJ, will sign ZD8Z July 9 to 17 on CW and SSB. He will participate in the IARU HF Championship. QSL via VE3HO.

ROTUMA ISLAND, 3D2. Antoine, 3D2AG, is planning a one month DXpedition for August. He will be on 80 through 10 meter CW and RTTY signing 3D2AG/P. QSL direct to his CBA.

CAPE VERDE, D4. Veronica, IK3VAW, will be QRV for several weeks starting July 21 on all bands, mostly SSB. Check 14240 kHz. No call sign was available at bulletin deadline. QSL via IK3VAW.

CROZET, FT5. Samuel, FT5WE, will be active in the IOTA Contest, probably using the call sign of compatriot FT5WF.

PORTUGAL, CQ. Ops CT1ZW, CT1BQH, CT1BWW, CT1CJJ, CT1DVV, CT1EEB, CT1ENQ, CT1ESV, CT1ETZ and CT1FMX will activate Insua Island, IOTA EU-150, from July 26 to 29. This 4 day operation, which includes activity in the IOTA Contest, will be on all bands on SSB and CW only. They have requested the call sign CQ2I. Outside the IOTA Contest they will have 3 stations running simultaneously. Operators will also be active signing their own calls /P. Their QSL via WA1ECA. European stations can also QSL via CT1EEB. Send QSLs direct or via the bureau.

ARUBA, P4. Bob, P40I, should remain active until July 9 on all bands, CW and SSB. QSL via CBA. Dennis, AA7VB, will be here July 11 to 16, primarily for the IARU Contest, signing P40Z.

HAITI, HH. David, HH5HK, is often found at 1245z on 14160 kHz. NBe runs 400W to a 4 element Yagi. QSL via W3RM.

THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. The Venezuelan Independence Day Contest, phone, runs from 0000z July 6 to 2400z July 7. See page 98 in July QST for more details. The Spanish Islands Award Contest starts 0005z July 7 and runs for only 8 hours. Non-Spanish Island stations exchange signal report and QSO number.
