PACIFIC

3D2 - FIJI Before he returns to Finland Paavo, A35PM/ZK2PN (Homecall OH5UQ), plans to become active as 3D2PN. The QSL cards of his last Pacific trip arrived very soon via bureau and direct.

FO - FRENCH POLYNESIA Members of the Lyon DX Gang intend to become QRV again as FO0SUC this year. They will work from Rurutu Island (OC-050) from October 9-14 and from Tubuai Island (OC-152) from October 14-19. The equipment consists of a TS50, HF6V and dipoles. QSL via F5JJW.

KH0 - MARIANAS Yoshi, JE2EHP, and Nob, JF2MBF, are QRV as WK3D/WH0 on 40m-10m in CW and SSB from August 11-17. QSL via JF2KOZ.

V6 - MICRONESIA JA3IG planned to be QRV from Yap Island from August 10-13. Yuu wanted to work as V63YI/Y on 15/20/40m in CW/SSB.


AMERICA

6Y5 - JAMAICA Fred, W5YI, wants to work as W5YI/6Y5 from August 10-18. He will work on 20m and 40m using 5 watts in CW. QSL via CBA.

FG/J7/FM - GUADELOUPE/DOMINICA/MARTINIQUE Once again some members of the PI4COM contest group will be active from the Caribbean. The schedule of Peter/PA3BBP, Rob/PA3ERC, Roland/PA3EWP and Dick/PA3FQA looks like this: September 13-18 FG (Guadeloupe) signing FG/homecall. For the WAE SSB test (Sep 14/15) they applied for the call TO5C (m/s category). From September 18-30 they will be active from J7 (Dominica) signing J7/homecall. They applied for the call J77C which shall be used in the m/s category of the CQWW RTTY Contest. Between September 30 and October 6 they will be active as FM/homecall from Martinique. Plans are to work with two FT990 transceivers and R7000 antennas simultaneously in CW/SSB/RTTY (with wire antennas also on 160 meters). All QSLs via bureau or direct to PA3ERC.

10 years EUDXF The EUDXF was founded in 1986 and has now more than 400 members. Walter Geyrhalter (DL3RK) who was the editor of the DX-MB/DX-NL over many years and Erich Wagner (DL1LD) responsible for the print and distribution of the DX-MB/DX-NL were two of the founding mem- bers of the EUDXF. The 1996 DX meeting of the EUDXF (open also for non-members) will take place in Bad Bentheim/Hagelhoek on August 24 at 1400 local time. Walter, DK9KX, will show slides from the very first Conway Reef DXpedition. More suggestions and contributions are welcome.

7P8/G4FUI Martin, G4FUI, is QRV from Lesotho in CW/SSB until the beginning of December. QSL via homecall.

9Q2L Alex (homecall PA3DZN) left Zaire due to the actual political situation.

TL8MS Stefan is on holidays in Germany and will be QRV as usual some time in the end of August.

TY1IJ Sigi is QRV since August 8.

VK4ALF/VK9 The activity of October 1995 has been approved for DXCC and counts for Mellish Reef. Operator was Steve, AA6LF, who is sailing around the world.

VK0WH Warren on Macquarie Island is on the air again after being QRT for one month to repair all antennas. He announced to listen especially for the US on 7009 kHz tuesdays starting at 1030 UTC and for Europe also on 7009 kHz sundays starting 0500 UTC. Warren has to retrench his activities due to professional obligations. He will leave the island in October. There are rumours that there will be another radio amateur who will work on Macquarie Island after Warren. QSL for VK0WH via VK9NS.
