PACIFIC

KH0 - MARIANAS Allen, KN6AH, plans to be active as KH0/KN6AH from March 15-30. He wants to work especially on 40m, 20m, 15m and in nets on 20m. QSL direct only via callbook.


AMERICA

KG4 - GUANTANAMO BAY Bill, KQ4GC, hopes to get the call KG4GC while he stays there from March 8-15. He will work mostly in SSB and RTTY.


AFRICA

FT/W/X/Z - FRENCH ANTARCTIC TERRITORIES Ren, FR5HR, left Reunion Island on February 20 and wants to be QRV from Crozet Island until March 5. He will then leave for Kerguelen to be active from there from March 8-20. Plans are also to stop by on Amsterdam Island from March 22-28. All dates are dependent on the weather situation down there. QSLs for all calls via F5RRH.

FR/G - GLORIOSO Michel, FR5HG, who is QRV as D68SE in the moment plans to be QRV as FR5HG/G from Glorioso for a few days sometime in May 1996. QSL as usual via F6FNU.

ST/5T - SUDAN/MAURITANIA Claus, ex 9G1AP and 9N1AP, has a licence as ST1AP. He can be found in the MAR net (0745 UTC, 14332 kHz). That is also the right time and frequency to look for Bernd, DK3LQ/6W1, who will be active as 5T5MB during the end of March and beginning of April.

ZS8 - MARION ISLAND Chris, ZS5IR, will be the doctor for an expedition starting in May 1996 and lasting until June/July 1997. He intends to be QRV as ZS8IR in SSB/CW/RTTY from 160 to 6 meters. QSL via ZS6EZ.


EUROPE

JW - SVALBARD Tom, LA6VDA, plans to be on the air as JW6VDA from March 1-10. Besides the normal modes he is working also in Pactor. - LA5VK, LA7XJA and LA1BJA want to activate Svalbard on all bands in CW/SSB/RTTY from March 7-11. QSL for this activity via LA5VK.

KH5 Some American newspapers wrote that a Hawaiian family sold Palmyra Atoll to a New York firm. Furthermore they wrote that this firm plans to use Palmyra for scientific research and hotel development.

PJ7 ND5S, KF5LG, AA8GL and KB8ZXO took part in the ARRL SSB Contest and will stay there until March 9.

CQ CONTEST is the name for a new magazine published by CQ Communications. The first edition was published in January 1996. A must for all active contesters!

IOTA The IOTA Committee has a new address: RSGB IOTA Programme, POBox 9, Potters Bar, Herts EN6 3RH, England. It will be a full committee of the RSGB and therefore there will be some changes. However Roger Balister, G3KMA, will stay the chairman of the IOTA Programme. The local Country Assistants and QSL checkers will remain in place.
