ASIA

9N - NEPAL 9N1HP is the call of JA1OEM during the month of April.


AFRICA

FR5 - REUNION ISLAND Bernd, DL1VJ, and Heinz, F5NRG, will work as TO3R during the WPX CW Contest. Before and after the contest they will be on the air as FR/homecall. QSLs via F6KLS (French bureau) which is the clubcall of the SL-DX-Club.

S7 - SEYCHELLES Seiji, JH6RTO, will be active as S79SF between April 29 and May 5.

ZD8 - ASCENSION ISLAND Des, G0DEZ, will be QRV again as ZD8DEZ on HF and 6m starting in May. He will stay there until the end of the year and he will work also some RTTY and SSB. QSL via homecall.


AMERICA

9Y4 - TRINIDAD & TOBAGO Alby, HB9TU, and Peter, DJ4XN, will be active from Tobago Island as 9Y4/HB9TU and 9Y4/DJ4XN from April 21 until May 9. Main activity is planned on 14004 kHz (CW) and 14140 or 14170 kHz (SSB) but look for them also on the other bands (including WARC). Tobago Isl. (SA-009) is for IOTA chasers more interesting than Trinidad (SA-011). QSL via homecalls.

CY0 - SABLE ISLAND Mike, VE9AA, will be on the island a few days earlier than planned so that the DXpedition will now last 15 days.

J6 - GRENADA Eric, F5CCO, plans to be on the air between June 24 and July 4. QSL via homecall.

TI9 - COCOS ISLAND Another highlight of this season will be the DXpedition by JH1NBN, TI5RLI, TI5KD, JI3ERV and 7L2RPY between April 26 and May 5. They will use the calls TI9X for HF and TE9RLI via the satellites AO-10 and AO-13. QSLs via JH1NBN.

VP2E - ANGUILLA VP2EFF (JH4IFF) and VP2EZI (JH4EZI) will be actice on 160m to 10m in SSB/CW/RTTY from April 29 till May 3. There is also the slight chance that JH4IFF will be active also as FS/N2HNQ afterwards.

7O Paul, F6EXV, is trying hard to get a licence in Yemen. This country ranks among the Top Ten of the MOST WANTED COUNTRIES lists.

9K5 This is a prefix used by the Kuwaitis from April 7 till May 7.

9L Paul, 9L1PG, and YL Millie, 9L1MG, will disassemble their station on May 15 and will return to the US on June 15. While Millie works some SSB from time to time Paul puts this rare country on the air in CW.

S0 The last activity (calls were be S0A and S02R) had to be finished earlier than scheduled due to military maneuvers. QSL via EA2JG.

VK9N Jim, VK9NS, and his wife Kirsty, VK9NL, are using the prefix VI9 from Norfolk Island on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Royal Australian Air Force. Jim recently received an Indian licence (VU2JBS) and also the permission to import amateur radio equipment for Mani, VU2JPS.

HAM-RADIO and DXCC QSL-Checking Bill Kennamer (aka Mister DXCC), K5FUV, will be once again at the HAM RADIO in Friedrichshafen and will also check QSLs for the DXCC award. He emphasizes that there is a limit of 120 QSLs per HAM (no 5-Band-DXCCs and 160m QSLs) and that no exceptions will be made. The fee is 10 cents per checked QSL. No cards will be accepted after Sunday 1000 o'clock.
