The ship has two Zodiacs and two additional safe landing crafts. However, the DX team URGENTLY needs your financial support to raise the remaining $21,000 needed by April. The team states no donation is too small and ALL donations will be used for non-personal expenses. Donations can be sent to: SGI Expeditions - Kermadec Project, P.O. Box 2235, Melbourne, FL 32902-2235. Make checks payable to: SGI DX-pedition for Kermadec Project and include your call sign on the check or envelope. Graham says listen carefully because he will be only running a 100 watts (no linear - no generator - only battery power). He will not be operating "on board a ship" this trip.

NORTH KOREA (DPRK), P51DX

The DPRK project group has been busy maintaining multiple contacts and discussing additional steps required to establish amateur radio in the DPRK and make P51DX QSOs available for Deserving. This week's tentative trip to the DPRK has been re-scheduled to the second half of April because of a variety of reasons. Among them are that currently there are only sporadic flight connections from Beijing. An exceptionally severe winter is effecting the normal life in the DPRK.

Following the visit by the DPRK amateur radio delegation to Beijing during the recent Beijing DX Convention, a major donation of amateur radio related equipment was shipped to the DPRK Amateur Radio Association. The April delegation to the DPRK will be headed by Mr. Chen Ping, BA1HAM, Deputy Secretary General of the CRSA and an organizer of the succesful Scarborough Reef operations.

The DPRK project is involving the CRSA, utilizing the good relations between these two countries. The underlying aim of the DPRK project is to establish permanent activity with the large base of radio communications enthuasists that are currently involved in ARDF* Amateur Radio Direction Finding* as well as in class room morse competitions.

Instead of DPRK travel, OH2BH and his family members, OH2BE and OH2KNB will be traveling to Myanmar on Saturday, Feb.17 to conduct further amateur radio training and some operating. They will be joined by OH1RY, training coordinator of ZA1A fame and OH1MA to make XZ available on some of the very low bands, such as 80/160.
