POSSIBLE NEW COUNTRY IN THE WORKS? On October 14th, the Nevis Island (V4) administration decided to secede from its federation with St. Kitts (V4), which was formed after the countries obtained their independence in 1983. It is now required to have a two-thirds majority vote by the island's 5000 voters in a referendum to implement it.

POSSIBLE PREFIX CHANGE? UK amateurs on Pitcairn Island using the VR6 prefix may be switching to VP6. Reportedly, the VR6 prefix now belongs to People Republic of China since the handover of Hong Kong.
