1SL1A, SEALAND. Jon Utley, K7CO, now also known as 1SL1J, informs OPDX that this operation is still planned to take place in December, even after last week's statements by the UK Radiocommunications Agency calling this operation "ILLEGAL". He states that his team will be made up of Americans, British, and, of course, Sealanders. However, he states, each amateur has to choose whether or not to participate in this operation. Jon has been issued a license from the goverment of Sealand, and he intends to operate using this license. He reports that he has "personally seen that the British courts have ruled that Sealand is out of its jurisdiction, therefore Sealand's claims to independence have validity." OPDX InterNet Subscribers will receive Jon's press release as an additional bulletin.

3A, MONACO. Operator Laura, 3A2MD, was heard by stateside station on long path this past weekend on 28035 kHz between 1430 and 1515z.

3W, VIETNAM. Hans, WA1LWS, is still very active as 3W2LWS. Activity this past week was mainly on 15 meters CW between 0030z and 0230z. QSL via WA1LWS. Also, active this past week was 3W8LI from Saigon on 10 meters SSB between 0130 and 0230z.

4X3, ISRAEL. Look for Riki, 4X4NJ, to be active as 4X3A as a Single Op Single Band (160m) entry during the CQWW CW Contest. This is Zone 20. QSLs via WA4WTG.

5R, MADAGASCAR. There was plenty of activity from here last week. 5R8FL kept the SSB folks happy on 20 meters between 14190 and 14200 kHz after 0230z. Albert, 5R8O, was also active on 20 meters but on CW around 14014 kHz after 0300z. QSL via 5R8FL. 5R8FU was busy on 10 meters around 28497 kHz between 1530 and 1830z. QSL via SM0DJZ. Lastly, 5R8GT was active on both 10 and 15 meters CW/SSB. Check 28008, 21003 and 28442 kHz around 1300z and 1800z.

5T, MAURITANIA. The "Les Nouvelles DX" reports that Yannick, F6FYD, has received the callsign 5T5YD. He will be active on all bands on SSB with a FT-847. He will also try to activate some islands for the IOTA. Look for him to sign 5T5YD/P on November 22nd, from Banc d'Arguins (AF-050). QSL via F6FYD.

5X, UGANDA. Tapani, OH5BM, plans to activate the 5X1Z station in Uganda in the CQWW DX CW Contest as a Single Op/Single Band (15m or 10m) entry on November 24-26th. Before the contest he will operate on 10 and 15 meters SSB/CW. He thanks Mats, SM7PKK, for this nice opportunity. QSL to SM6CAS.

9H3, MALTA. Con (Cornelius), DF4SA, will be active from here in the CQWW CW Contest as a Single Op/All Band/Low Power entry. His callsign is not known as this was being prepared. All QSOs will be confirmed via bureau (via DF4SA).

9M6, EAST MALAYSIA. Hide/JH8KYU and Sei/JF1SQC will be active from here during the period of November 23-27th. They will take part in the upcoming CQWW CW Contest as a Multi-Operators/Single Transmitter entry. Their QTH will be the newest YAESU rental shack at Tang Dynasty Hotel in Kota Kinabalu. Sunrise/sunset times there are at 2208/0957z. The callsign used in this contest will be 9M6SMT. Another callsign, 9M6HTT, will also be used outside the contest. QSL route for both 9M6SMT and 9M6HTT via JF1SQC.

AH2, GUAM. Aki, JI3ERV/NH2C, Chairman of Guam Contest Club (GCC), informs OPDX that GCC members/operators Toshi/JR7OMD/WI3O, Noz/JE8KKX, Aki/JP1OGL and himself will be active again during CQWW CW Contest as AH2R at the end of this month. This time, they set a target as the Oceanic leader in the Multi-Single category that will be very competitive due to the fact that there are many planned to be active. Also, they are trying to build an Oceanic record in Muliti-Single category. Guam Island's (KH2, Zone 27, IOTA OC-26) sunrise/sunset is 2026/0751z. QSL via JH7QXJ direct or the JA bureau, NOT the KH2 bureau (Please Note: QSL Manager is changed!) Lastly, Aki, JI3ERV/NH2C, states, "Thanks for stopping your radio's VFO and gave us a precious point during CQWW SSB."

ASIAN DX WINDOW. Eugene, RA0FF, reports that the "Asia (((DX))) Window" (ADXW) InterNet Web Cluster ( http://dx.bgtelecom.ru ) now has an open special notice board for the purpose of a meeting times for on the air (SKEDs) for the 160/80 meters bands. "ADXW" hopes that this idea gets the support of radio amateurs and will render an aid in getting new entites for DXCC.

CQ9, MADEIRA ISLAND. Frank, DL2CC, will be active from here as CT3/DL2CC from November 23-28th. He will sign as CQ9K in the CQ Worldwide DX CW Contest as a Single Op/All Bands entry.

D6, COMOROS. Josep/EA3BT and Nuria/EA3WL are pleased to announce their annual DXpedition. This year's destiny will be to Comoros, and their operation will be between January 13-28th (2001). The callsigns that will be used are: D68BT, issued to Josep, EA3BT; D68WL, issued to Nuria, EA3WL. They will operate on 80-10 meters, included WARC bands, using SSB, RTTY and some CW. They will have two stations on the air, one on 10/15/20 meters, and the another on the WARC bands or 40/80 meters. DIFO WEB SITE. Gil, F5NOD, reports that information on the DIFO Award and DIFO Award scores can be found at: http://f5nod.waika9.com/difo.html The DIFO Award is the "French Overseas Island Award".

EA6, BALEARIC ISLANDS. Operators EA3AIR/Julio, EA3AJW/Jaume, EA3ALV/Xavier (the grandfather of the crew - near 69 years old), EA3KU/Fernando, EA5BM/ Juan, EA6ACC/Josep and EA6FB/Pepe will activate the station EA6IB in CQWW CW Contest from Ibiza Island as a Multi-single operation. Technical support will be provided by EA5ZF/Javier, EB6AOK/Enric, EA6FO/Vicent and his family, and the cooking by EA3AIR's XYL Patro. Look for them during the contest as EA6IB, before and after the contest as EA6/homecalls.

EP, IRAN. Ali, EP2MKO, was heard this past week on 10 meters CW on 28006 kHz around 1330z. He was also heard on 12 meters around 24890 kHz after 1230z. QSL via UA6HCW.

FO, FRENCH POLYNESIA. Look for Bruno, TK5PB, to be active as FO/TK5PB now through November 27th. He will concentrate mainly on the WARC bands. Activity will be on Hao Atoll (OC-066). QSL via TK5PB.

FO & FO/A, FRENCH POLYNESIA AND AUSTRAL ISLANDS. Alain, F2HE, will once again head back to French Polynesia in early December and be active as FO0CLA from Rangiroa, Tuamotu Island (OC-066). There is a possibility for him to be active from Rurutu Island (OC-050) in the Austral Island group. He plans to be in the area for at least 8 months and he will be active on SSB and CW.

FRENCH ACTIVITIES..........

GJ, JERSEY. Look for GJ2A to operate as a Multi-Single from the Jersey Amateur Radio Society club station by K2WR, OH2BC, OH2BH, and OH2TA. QSL to MJ0BJU.

HR1, HONDURAS. Ernesto, HR1ERL, will be active in the CQWW CW Contest and will operate on 10/15/20/40 meters. Please send QSLs direct for any contact with this station via P.O. BOX 1734, Tegucigalpa Honduras, Central America, Zip Code 11101.

IOTA NEWS..................

JW0, SVALBARD. Vlad, JW0HR, was very active this past week on 20/15/10 meters SSB. Most of the activity begins after 1630z or 0000z. QSL direct to: Box 224, Barentsburg 9178, Svalbard Island, Norway. Also, active was Joe, JW5DW, mainly on 10 meters CW around 28018 kHz +/- 5 kHz after 1930z. QSL via LA5DW.

KH4, MIDWAY ISLAND. Bill, KH4/NH6D, is now QRT from Midway and reports that he hasn't any plans to return in the foreseeable future. He wants to thank everyone for the fun he had while he was on KH4 the past 6 1/2 months. QSL requests go to N6FF/Dick.

KH6ND/KH5 NOW QRT. A press release by Garry, NI6T, reports that Mike, KH6ND, has left Palmyra Atoll and has returned to Honolulu. The Nature Conservancy's (TNC) acitivities on Palmyra have ceased for the winter. Given the imminent change in ownership, they do not know what operating opportunities will be available in the future. However, Mike and the Kingman Reef/Palmyra DX Group (KRPDXG) hope to be involved in future amateur activity from Palmyra. A complete press release will be sent to all OPDX InterNet Subscribers as an additional bulletin.

LION'S CONTEST. The 30th annual "Hunting Lions on the Air Contest" will take place on January 13-14th. This year's contest will commemorate the birth of Melvin Jones, the founder of Lionism, who was born on January 13, 1879. The rules were sent to OPDX by Edwin, ZS5BBO, but because of their length, we could not put them in the additional bulletins section this week for subscribers. We will try to send them to all OPDX InterNet Subscribers next week or before the contest takes place. MU, GUERNSEY. Look for MU2K to operate in the CQWW CW Contest as a Multi-Single from the Guernsey Amateur Radio Society club station by GU3HFN, GU0SUP, OH1RX, OH3RB, OH8SR,and OH9MM. QSL (this contest only) to OH3LQK.

NH0, MARIANA ISLANDS. Just a reminder to look for JQ1UKK, JF2SKV, JG3VEI and JH5OXF to participate in the CQWW DX CW Contest as NH0S (Multi-Single High Power entry) from the Northern Marianas (OC-086). QSL via JF2SKV, either direct (Hisashi Matsushita, 14-1 Ugasemae Iwakura, Toyota, 444-2225 Japan) or through the JARL bureau. Look for them to be active before and after the contest, between November 23-27th. They will operate on all bands (160-6 meters) and modes (SSB, CW, RTTY, PSK31 and FM) as NH0S (QSL via JF2SKV), NH0V (QSL via JG3VEI), KH0/KD6CJF (QSL via JH5OXF) and KH0/JQ1UKK (QSL via JQ1UKK).

PJ4, NETHERLANDS ANTILLES. Dennis/NX7D, Karen/KA7EJO and Paul/WN7T will be on the Island of Bonaire in the Netherlands Antilles now through November 28th. They plan to operate as a Single Operator/All Band/Low Power entry in the CQWW CW Contest. They will operate under the CEPT rules as PJ4/WN7T. Please QSL to Paul's CURRENT address in the FCC database (his home address in Bellingham - not his old PO Box in Seattle).

S2, BANGLADESH. Two stations were active this past week. S21YH was heard on 15 meters CW/SSB. Check 21005 kHz around 0200z and 21241 kHz around 1230z. QSL via 7M4PTE. Also look for Stig, S21YJ, on 20 meters SSB around 14178 kHz after 0215z. QSL via SM4AIO.

SILENT KEY. News from "The Daily DX" reports that Mario, 5X1C, became a Silent Key "SK" this week. Mario and his Betty joined UNWFP in Kampala as radio operators four years ago. Mario joined the UNWFP team as telecom- munications technician in the fast intervention team earlier this year. He was one of the first licensed 5X hams who was active mostly on phone, the satellites and digital modes. He was also the chairman for the "Uganda Radio Amateur Society" for a year. He was also a very good friend of Mats/SM7PKK/5X1Z, Joe/G3MRC/5X1P and Peter/ON6TT/5X1T. OPDX (along with its readers) would like to send out to his family and friends our deepest sympathy.

TS7, TUNISIA (Rare IOTA and New Prefix operation). The Kerkennah Island DXpedition (please refer to OPDX.453) is now active as TS7N through November 28th. This group is the first to obtain operating permission for the prefix TS7 and to be active on 6 meters and the WARC bands. The team has been very active on all bands CW/SSB. QSL via DL6BCF. V8, BRUNEI. Paul, N4PN, is now active as V8PNA. He has been very active on CW on all bands including the WARC bands. Most activity begins after 0000z. QSL via N4PN.

ZF, CAYMAN ISLANDS. Look for Jim, K4BI, to continue to be active as ZF2MU until November 23rd. Most of his activity so far has been on 10 meters CW. QSL via homecall.

ZK1, SOUTH COOK ISLANDS. Roger, W7VV, will be active for two weeks and be an entry in the CQWW CW Contest as ZK1VVV. Activity will last until December 3rd with operations on the WARC bands outside the contest.
