HEARD ISLAND UPDATE. Due to a strike by the French Regie Maritime, the departure of the ship from Reunion Island was delayed until January 5. They are now heading directly to Heard Island and will be on schedule to be QRV from Heard on January 13. They will leave Heard Island January 30 or 31 and will stop at Kerguelen on the way back as planned, but the chances of being QRV are minimal because of the limited time now available. The group has been active en route as TO0R/MM.

EASTERN KIRIBATI, T32. T32Z, has been quite active from Christmas Island. CW and SSB activity varies between 0130 and 0800z and also around 1900z. Check 1826, 7003, 14180 and 21005 kHz. QSL is via N7YL.

JAN MAYEN, JX. Per, LA7DFA, who is QRV as JX7DFA until April, will concentrate on 80 meter SSB in January. In February he will be QRV from the QTH on the western side of the island with high power and better antennas, and will concentrate on 80 and 160 meters. QSL to home call via bureau or direct.

BRUNEI, V8. Hiro, JA1WTR, formerly TA2ZY, VU2WTR and XW8HK, is QRV as V85HY on 80, 40, 30, 17 and 15 meters, mostly CW. QSL via bureau or direct.

ST. HELENA, ZD7. Cherie, ZD7YL, is QRV on 20 meter SSB. She is the xyl of ZD7TT who is in the Falklands. QSL direct.

ST PETER and ST PAUL ROCKS, PY0. Karl, PS7KM, and Tino, PT7AA, will be QRV for 2 to 3 weeks starting on January 25 as ZY0SK on SSB and ZY0SG on CW. Look for them on CW and SSB on the usual DX frequencies, no 160 meters. QSL CW QSOs via PT7AA and SSB QSOs via PS7KM.

WESTERN MALAYSIA, 9M2. Dick, N4ISV, is QRV as 9M2RY for several years. He can be found using CW or SSB on 80 through 15 meters. QSL via N4JR.

ARUBA, P4. Mike, K4PI, will operate at P49I from January 22 through 28, including the CQ WW 160 Meter CW Contest. Before and after the contest, he will be active on newband/lowband CW. QSL to K4PI.

GHANA, 9G. Steve, PA3GBQ, will be here from February 1 to March 8, using the call sign 9G5BQ. He will try to obtain a license for 160 meters. Steve may make a trip to TU land during this time. All QSL cards via PA3GBQ.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA, P2. The German group who were QRV as VK9CR in 1996 will be QRV in February from the Misima Island Guesthouse in the Louisiade Archipelago.

SOLOMON ISLANDS, H4. Bernhard, DL2GAC, and Siegfried, DK9FN, will be QRV at the beginning of February for at least two weeks as H44MS on SSB and H44/DK9FN on CW.

NETHERLANDS ANTILLES, PJ2. The Island/DX News reports John, W1BIH, will be active as PJ9JT from Curacao, through March 30th. Activity will have an emphasis on CW, with operations on 160 through 10 meters. QSL via W1AX.

QSL CORRECTION. Bill, K1SE, reports an error in ARLD001. All QSLs for A92GD should go to K1SE only and NOT direct to Bob. QSL to K1SE, P.O. Box 685, Manassas Park, Virginia 20113-0685.

USI ALERT, United States Islands Award Program. Jim, AA3ID, and XYL Dianne, N3GPF, will be back on Hatteras Island, NC-005S, through January 12, with 6 through 80 meter capability. Their main operating frequency will be 14260 kHz. Special QSLs will be available.
