P2 - PAPUA NEW GUINEA After visiting Banglasdesh Dietmar, DL3DXX, and Joerg, DL8WPX, will head for Misimi Island where they will stay from February 20 until March 4. In Papua New Guinea the team will be joined by Falk, DK7YY, and Juergen, DL7UFN. A licence has been promised orally. Emphasis will be put on lowband CW.
5R - MADAGASCAR 5R8FH is a missionary in Sakalina. QSL via I1PIN.
7Q - MALAWI Karl, WF5A, will be active as 7Q7KH on 10m-80m for 5 weeks starting in Feb/Mar 1997. QSL via homecall.
EA8 - CANARY ISLANDS Hugo, EA8/DJ0LC, will be QRV again from Teneriffa mostly in CW with 100 watts and a FD4 antenna from February 1-13. QSL 100% via buro.
VK0IR - HEARD ISLAND The last equipment arrived on the island on January 12. They were on time and QRV since January 14. The beacons on 14100 and 18110kHz have been heard already others will follow on 21150, 24930 and 28200 kHz.
XT - BURKINA FASO Hugolin, XT2HB, is a new licence owner in Burkina Faso. QSL direct to: Dep 01, BP 6397, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
CE - CHILE Paul is QRV as CE3/F6EXV for the next 2 or 3 years. QSL via F2VX.
CY9 - ST PAUL ISLAND VE9AA plans to be active on 160m-2m for several weeks some time in June. Mike was a member of the 1996 CY0AA DXpedition.
HP - PANAMA Joel, HP7/F5PAC, will be active from Archipelago de San Blas (IOTA NA-170) between February 22 and March 7. Perhaps also NA-202.
P4 - ARUBA John, K9UWA, enjoys his holidays on Aruba and is QRV as P40WA from January 11-27 (including the CQWW 160m Contest). - K4PI will be on the air as P49L from January 24-28 (also ARRL 160m Contest). - By the end of January or February Andy will be active as P4/K2LE. QSL via CBA.
V2 - ANTIGUA Walter, DL2SDS (KC5VFT), will be QRV from NA-100 using an IC706, wire groundplanes and a G5RV on 80m-10m mostly in CW from Feb 1-20. The call has not been confirmed yet. QSL via DL2SDS. - NM9H and KX9X were announced as V2/homecall from February 12-19. Perhaps they will use the call V21CW during the ARRL DX CW Contest. QSLs to their homecalls.
V4 - ST KITTS AND NEVIS ISLAND The inhabitants of Nevis will vote later this year whether they secede from St. Kitts or not. This could be a new DXCC country...
VP5 - TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS Joe, K8JP, wll stay in Hamlet and active as VP5/K8JP from Feb 12-24 (including ARRL CW and CQWW 160m Contest). During the contests they will sign VP5JP. QSL via K8JP,Box 59573, Schaumburg, IL 60159-0573.
XF4 - REVILLAGIGEDO ISLAND Hector, XE1BEF, is QRV as XF4CA in CW/SSB/RTTY on 160m-10m until January 20. QSL via homecall.
ZF - CAYMAN ISLANDS Bruce, W6OSP, and Joe, WA6VNR, will participate in the CQWW 160m Contest as ZF2QM. QSL via W6OSP.
8Q - MALEDIVES Dieter, DF5JR, will be QRV as 8Q7CR in SSB, Pactor and packet from February 12 until March 4. QSL via DF5JR.
9M2 - WESTERN MALAYSIA Dick, N4ISV (ex VU2ISV, YB0ATA, OD5RY), received the call 9M2RY. He is working with dipoles on 15 to 80 meters. QSL as usual via N4JR.
BS7 - SCARBOROUGH REEF OH2BH is one member of an international team which will activate Scarborough Reef from May 2-11.
S2 - BANGLADESH Hannes,DL3NEO, Joerg, DL8WPX, und Dietmar, DL3DXX, will be in Dhaka from Feb 2-14 and hope to receive a licence. They will emphasize CW on the lowbands.
VR2 - HONG KONG Since Hong Kong is handed back to China any VR2/VR6 station may use the prefix VR97/VS97 in 1997 and VR98/VS98 in 1998.
