PACIFIC

A35 - TONGA DF5WA and friends will be on the air starting February 20.

FK - NEW CALEDONIA In the end of March F5PXQ will go to Noumea for three years.

JD1 - MINAMI TORISHIMA JG8NQJ/JD1 stays until April 23. QSL to Susumu Sanada, 5 4 Shin ei, Toyohira, Sapporo 004, Japan.

AFRICA

3B8 - MAURITIUS Mart, DL6UAA, announced to be on 3B8 between March 16 and April 3. When the licence arrives in time he will be active also on AO-10.

5A1A - LIBYA Rumours are going around stating that since Sep 9, 1996 all QSLs go via SM0OFG, Charly Chahine, Mellingeb 8 2, S-16364 Spanga, Sweden. As far as I know this route applies NOT to European stations. Other rumours say that HH2HM/F (direct only) confirms also QSOs of the DXpedition by OM3JW and LZ2UA (July 13-27, 1995). SM4EMO listed:

  1. operator Ali: Box 80462, Tripoli, Libya
  2. operator Usama: Box 78665, Tripoli, Libya
  3. operator Abubaker: Box 74421, Tripoli, Libya
  4. DXpedition (Ukrainian group 1995) via N4AA (quick!)
Please send only registered airmail to Libya! During the 1996 WWDX CW Contest the call 5A1A has been misused by a pirate. Op Abubaker stated that no CW QSOs have been made since 1995.
