DX Newsletter 1080 CORRECTION !!

The KH5K (Kingman Reef) QSLs are NOT managed by AC7DX! The correct QSL route is via WA4FFW.

The KH1 (Baker and Howland) QSLs are also NOT managed by AC7DX! The correct QSL routes for this DXpedition are: SSB via K4AU; CW via WA4FFW.

PACIFIC

A3 - TONGA After his trip to Chatham (DXNL 1078) K8VIR will appear as A35VI on 14260 and 21300 kHz from April until May. QSL via Ed Hartz, Box 480, Green Valley, AZ 85622, USA.

FK - NEW CALEDONIA Philippe, F5PFD (exJ28FO), is on the air in CW and SSB on all bands for two years starting on April 1st. He is still waiting for an own callsign. QSL via bureau to F6AJA.

H44 - SOLOMON ISLANDS On March 29 Jim Smith, VK9NS, arrived on Pigeon Island (belonging to Reef Island, OC-065) which is situated about 80 km NE of Lata. He is running a TS 690 and a FL2100 amplifier (powered by the local island generator) into a Butternut vertical for 10-80m. He was QRV as H44/VK9NS until March 31. QSL direct only to VK9NS, Jim Smith, Box 90, Norfolk Island, Australia 2899.

H40 - TEMOTU ISLAND Besides of H40AA (see DXNL 1087) also Jim, VK9NS, will be on the air from Temotu Island for about two weeks starting on April 1st. His call is H40AB. QSL direct ONLY via VK9NS. - H40AA is on the air with three stations since April 1st. Their plans are to put their emphasis in the beginning on working JA on 15m phone, the rest of the world on 20m phone and the third station to be active on 40m and 17m CW. Starting on April 6 they will put all their emphasis CW and the other bands. RTTY operations are scheduled for April 8 (and later) on 15m and 20m. QSL for H40AA via OH2BN.


AFRICA

3B8 - MAURITIUS Norbert, 3B8/DL6UAA, became active in SSB and CW on March 25. QSL via bureau.

5V - TOGO Marc, F5PCU (ex 5T5NU, 5T0RIM, TL8MB), is on the air as 5V7BM from April 1997 until the end of 1999.

7X - ALGERIA Mark, ON4WW/9X4WW, will stay in Algeria for the next six months. As soon as he got his licence (7X0WW?) he will be active mostly in CW on the lowbands and on 10m SSB. If he is allowed to cross the borders he plans to operate also from Western Sahara signing S04WW. QSL via ON5NT, also via ON bureau.


AMERICA

8P - BARBADOS David, 8P9IJ, on the air in SSB and RTTY until April 3. QSL via his homecall VE3VET.

CE0 - SAN FELIX ISLAND John, CE0ZAM, will activate XQ0X in CW/SSB on all bands for about 20 days in April or May.

HR - HONDURAS Gerard, F2JD/HP1XBI, will appear on the bands as HR5/F2JD in April.

TI - COSTA RICA Jim, N9IUO, was announced to be QRV signing TI2IDX on all bands in CW and SSB between March 28 and April 5. QSL via WA9BXB.


ASIA

9M8 - EASTERN MALAYSIA Peter, PB0ALB, will be QRV again as 9M8CC from Serian (nr Kuching) from April 10 till May 22. QSL via homecall.

XV - VIETNAM Rolf, SM5MX, returned to Hanoi and is QRV again as XV7SW until the mid of May. He brought an IC 706 and a 5 band vertical for 10-80m to Hanoi and is now operating from the QTH of Torsten, XV7TH, who owns a TH5 tribander. Rolf's allocated frequencies are: CW: 3506, 7007, 14016, 14021, 21021, 21019, 28016, 28019 kHz and SSB: 7086, 14243, 14249, 21421, 21427 and 28661 kHz. QSL via SM bureau to SM5MX or direct to SM5MX, Rolf T. Salme, Korpstigen 5 B, S-13553 Tyreso, Sweden.


EUROPE

3A - MONACO 3A/I1YRL and 3A/IK3SLP were announced to be active in CW and SSB during the end of March. QSL via I1YRL. - 3A/IK1QBT in CW and 3A/IK1CJO in RTTY will appear again in April. QSL via bureau or CBA's to their homecalls.

EA8 - CANARY ISLANDS Ron, EA8/G4DIY, will be QRV mostly in CW on 20, 17 and 12m from April 5-11. QSL via homecall.


CONTESTS

DIG (Diploma Interests Group) QSO Party CW:
April 11: 1200 UTC until 1700 UTC on 10, 15, 20m;
April 12: 0700 UTC until 0900 UTC on 80m; 0900 UTC till 1100 UTC on 40m.
Stations to work: all. Exchange: RST, (DIG members: also membership number)
