ANTARTICA

VP8A - ANTARCTIC F6ICA and F5GLS shall be active from Adelie Land for about one year starting in December. --- Oleg, UA1PBA, is QRV as R1ANF from the clubstation of the Bellingshausen Base (AN-010) for one year. QSL via RK1PWA.

PACIFIC

5W - WESTERN SAMOA Sakuma, JI3WLT, is QRV from Apia signing 5W1SA until March 2000. QSL via JH7OHF.

A3 - TONGA Paul, A35RK, is in New Zealand between Dec 8 and Jan 31. Until then Lee Reisenweber, 3D2VA/VP2VE, is QRV from Pauls QTH on Lifuka. Lee is QRV as A35VR on 6-80m and perhaps also on 160m until Feb 1. Lee's QSL Manager is WA2NHA.

JD1 - MINAMI TORISHIMA Since Dec 8 Ryo, JL1KFR, is on the air in RTTY and CW from OC-073. The length of stay is not known.

KH4 - MIDWAY Ted, KH4/NH6YK, was announced to be active also on 160m between Dec 20 and Jan 2. QSL via homecall.

ZK3 - TOKELAU Ron, ZL1AMO, is trying to come to Tokelau in December. We wish him all the best on his trip and that everything works fine this time.

AFRICA

EL - LIBERIA Mark, ON4WW (ex9X4WW, S07WW, 5T5WW) is now QRV as EL2WW in Monrovia and does NOT go back to Western Sahara. QSL via ON5NT.

FT5W - CROZET ISLAND Gilles, F5AGL, will go to Crozet (AF-008) in 1998/99 and intends to be on the air as FT5WH by December or January. QSL via F6KDF.

FT5Z - AMSTERDAM ISLAND FT5ZH is now QRV also on 12/17m, 160m shall follow soon but stormy weather disturbed their antenna work. On 30m there was a PIRATE QRV until yet. RTTY operation will commence after Dec 15.

AMERICA

C6 - BAHAMAS N8ZJN (C6AKL), KB8YKR, WA8NJR, W8GEX (C6AJR) and WZ8D (C6AIE) are QRV from Abaco Isl. (NA-080) signing C6DX on 160-6m from Dec 8-16. Emphasis will be put on the ARRL 10m Contest, 6m F2, TEP and E-skip. QSL: WZ8D, John Walker, 1930 Meredith Ln, Loveland, OH 45140-7216, USA.

J3 - GRENADA Harry, W8KKF, is QRV as J37K during the ARRL 10m Contest and from Dec 10-14. He works in SSB only! QSL with SASE (postage) via W8KKF

P4 - ARUBA Martin, VE3MR, is active as P49M especially on 12m/17m SSB until Apr 20. QSL via VE3MR or via M. Rosenthal, Box 4069, Noord, Aruba.

VE - CANADA The Canadians are commemorating the first radio contact by Marconi by operating the special event station VA1S in CW/SSB on 10-160m until Dec 31, 1998. QSL via VE1AL.

ASIA

3W - VIETNAM Takeshi, JA6EV, is QRV as 3W6EV on 14157 kHz and 21157 kHz for about one week starting around Dec 5. QSL via bureau or direct to JA6EV, Takeshi Katsuki, 3-10-9 Nabeshima, Saga, 849-0937 Japan.

A9 - BAHRAIN Bob, N3NGC, is QRV as A92GD until June 1999. Afterwards he may go to Africa. QSL via K1SE.

HZ - SAUDI ARABIA Right now there is no active operator at the clubstation 7Z1AB of the US embassy in Riyadh. Guest operators are allowed to work from there only if they are supervised by an employee of the embassy.
