OX2, GREENLAND (rare prefix). For several years a group of Danish hams have had a dream of activating Greenland on 2m, 70cm and 23cm EME. Well, they have now announced that the dream is a reality! Besides the EME operation, 6m and all HF-bands will also be operated around the clock on CW and SSB. There will be 25 operators putting on this large scale operation as OX2K during the period May 29th through June 6th. The prefix OX2 has not been in use for many years, and Greenland is exceptional on VHF-SHF and is still rare on 6m and HF. The group is, of course, looking for support because this operation will be expensive. They kindly ask the DX and EME community to support this DXpedition. For more information about EME-skeds, QSL-info, equipment, planning details and other details, visit the Web page: http://www.qsl.net/ox2k/

PACIFIC NORTHWEST DX CONVENTION DX2000 will be held July 28-30th. The BC DX Club and the Fraser Valley DX Club invite you to attend DX2000 in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Convention will be at the new Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Hotel. Check DX2000's Web site for more information and downloading of registration form at: http://www.bcdxc.org OPDX InterNet Subscribers will receive the complete press as an additional bulletin.

PJ8, ST. MAARTEN. Ron/ND5S, his wife Sue/KF5LG, Bill/W8EB and his wife Dorothy/W8DVC will be on their annual trip again to Dutch St. Maarten from February 19th through March 12th. This will make the 6th year that the gang will be operating from St. Maarten. Look for them as PJ8/homecall. They will be operating CW, SSB and RTTY. There is a daily schedule on 14200 kHz at 2030Z with the Michigan bunch, so if you need a contact drop in on the sked and make the arrangements. The equipment that they plan to use is an Icom 706, Yaesu FT-900CAT, FL-2100Z amplifier, KAM and AEA TNCs, and two (2) Cushcraft R-7000 verticals mounted on top of the 10 story building for the 40 through 10 meter operations plus a uniquely designed 127 foot sloper for the 160 and 80 meters activities. Also, they plan to enter the ARRL DX Phone Contest as PJ8A with W9NIP as the QSL Manager for the Contest operation. For all other contacts, please QSL via their home call sign.

PR2, BRAZIL. Paulo, PT2AW, has asked OPDX to remind NA stations to turn their beams south and listen for South American stations who will be active in next week's ARRL CW Contest. Also, look for Paulo to be active as PR2W as an All Band/Low Power category. QSL can be sent by the bureau, via PT2AW or via PO Box 7001 - ZC 71619-970 - Brasilia (DF) - Brazil.

QSL INFO AND NEWS.............

S2, BANGLADESH. By the time you read this, Andy, G4ZVJ, will be in Dhaka (as February 12th) and plans to be active until February 21st (currently callsign unknown). As this bulletin was being prepared there were no signs of Andy on the bands. His activity is expected to be on CW. QSL via G4ZVJ. LAST MINUTE UPDATE: Just before going to print, Andy was spotted as S21VJ on 10 meters CW (around 28027 at 1300z).

VP5, TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS. Just a reminder to look for Kenny, K2KW, to be active as VP5/K2KW from North Caicos Island (NA-002) from February 15-22nd. Activity will be on all bands CW/SSB and an entry in the ARRL CW DX Contest as VP5TT. QSL both callsigns via WA4WTG.

VP6BR, PITCAIRN ISLAND (Update). Lech, LA7MFA, informs OPDX that Martin/ ZL1ANJ and Olavi/OH5BR have been trying very hard to send Jukka/VP6BR a new linear amplifier. Unfortunately, they did not have enough time to find a suitable amplifier as the ship left for Pitcairn on Friday, February 12th. Martin has even bought an old SB1000, but it showed to be "out of order". Hopefully, they will manage to find another amplifier before the next ship leaves for Pitcairn in a few weeks. If you live in Auckland, New Zealand, or close to it, and are willing to support Jukka by lending him an old linear amplifier for his DXpedition, please contact Martin, ZL1ANJ at: jmellis@ihug.co.nz Olavi, OH5BR, is coordinating the donations for this linear project and you can reach him by E-mail at: oh5br@sral.fi He will send instructions for payments after the next ship is found, and they are certain that the amplifier will reach Jukka in reasonable time. Without an amplifier, contacts on 160 meters will be very hard, as well as the other bands. Meanwhile, Jukka has been very active on 30/20/17/10 meters. For updates and additional information, visit the Web page: http://www.qsl.net/oh2br/news.html

ZK2, NIUE. Bill/W7TVF and Al/K7CA are very active from here on 160 meters. The two operators began their operation on February 7th at/around 0630z as ZK2/K7CA and ZK2/W7TVF. However, on February 8th they were issued the callsigns ZK2CA (Al) and ZK2VF (Bill). Since then, the two operators have been very busy. With their activity mainly on 160 meters, they have also been heard on 40/17/10 meters CW. Also, keep an eye on 6 meters (50115 kHz). QSL ZK2CA and ZK2/K7CA via NW7O: Jim Frye, 4120 Oakhill Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89121-6319. QSL ZK2/W7TVF and ZK2VF to Bill, W7TVF, via Call Book Address. The ZK2CA and ZK2VF Web site is available for up-to-date information at: http://coyote.accessnv.com/ad7k/w7tvf/
