AP, PAKISTAN. Bruce, KK5DO, informs OPDX that it has been almost 3 years since Asad, AP2AUM, was last active on the satellites. So, he has now started operating HF and satellite again. Currently, he is operating on FO-20 and FO-29. Bruce is working on getting Asad some downlink equipment for AO-40 (2.4 GHz). Also, Bruce mentions that he is the QSL Manager for AP2AUM. Pakistan is very rare on the satellites, and Asad is the only satellite operator there. On HF, look for AP2AUM on 15 meters SSB around 21250 kHz between 1330 and 1400z.
FO, FRENCH POLYNESIA. Paolo, IK2QPR, informs OPDX that he will be active from the island of Bora Bora (OC-067) between August 10-14th as FO/IK2QPR. Activity will be on SSB/CW on 80-10 meters. QSL via IK2QPR: Paolo Fava, via Bertani 8, 46100 Mantova, ITALY.
FP, ST. PIERRE AND MIQUELON (Also Zone 2). After their St. Paul Island operations, Ed/W0SD and his wife Edith/W0OE will continue on and operate from FP8, July 27-29th. Activity will be on HF and 6 meters, same frequencies as the St. Paul operation. They will use a 6 meter beam left by K1TOL. Later in August, they will be active from CQ WW Zone 2 from Labrador City, Labrador. QSL via W0SD: Ed Gray, 43804 257 St., Salem, South Dakota 57058-5907 USA.

Check the lower CW portions, especially the 40, 30, and 20 meter bands (or other bands which may be open); and 6 meters (50150 kHz, +/- 15 kHz). Equipment will be an ICOM IC-706 MkII and mainly wire antennas. PSK-31 and RTTY are possible, but not from Bear Island. While on Bear Island a 60 Ah battery and a gasoline generator will be used for power. Please QSL direct to Tom's home address: Tom V. Segalstad, P.O. Box 15 Kjelsaas, N-0411 OSLO, NORWAY.
