AFGHANISTAN, YA Dan, JA1PBV, is staying in Afghanistan from Sep 1 until March 2004. QSL via JA1PBV. --- Hiro, YA1CQ (JA1CQT), is working as YA1CQ/p from Kandahar. His partner is Sadayoshi, JA1AKF (ex JR3EDE), who got the call YA1D. He is respon- sible for the clubstation YA0J which can be used by visitors as well. The Japanese Basic Human Needs Association (BHN) runs the clubstation YA1JA in Kabul.
ANDORRA, C3 A group of 12 radio amateurs from Andorra and Spain will participate in the IARU Region 1 Field Day on Sep 6/7. They'll build up their station on the Pic Maia (2614m high) to have a good skip on VHF as well. Their HF call is not known but they will use C37URA on 2m, C31PM on 1.2 GHz and C31US for satellite QSOs.
BALEARIC ISLANDS, EA6, EU-004 Andy, EA6/DL8LAS, will work mainly in CW/RTTY/PSK on 10-80m (also WARC bands) from Sep 8-20. --- Christian, DL6KAC, is visiting Mallorca (DIE E-021) from Sep 8 until Oct 7. Activities are planned mainly in SSB on 40-10m and he also plans to take part in the WAE SSB Contest. QSL via bureau.
FRANCE, F TM5GAP is a special event station during the Skydiving World Champion- ships in Gap from Sep 6-14. QSL via bureau.
GHANA, 9G Henk, PA3AWW, is working in a hospital in Dormaa until Sep 12. He plans to be active as 9G1AA during his spare time. QSL via PA3AWW.
GREECE, SV, EU-174 Michael, SV8/DF3IS (J48IS), will be active in all modes on all HF bands from Thassos Island (EU-174) from Sep 11-25. He will sign J48IS during the WAE SSB Contest. QSL via DF3IS, buro ok. Michael accepts no e-QSLs!
IRELAND, EI The Cork Radio Club and the East Cork Contest Group from Ireland will activate the new contest call EI1C/p during the IARU FD on the first weekend of September.
JAPAN, JA, AS-147 Yama, JJ1JGI/8, will be QRV in CW/SSB on 15-40m from Rishiri or Rebun Island (AS-147) from Sep 7-10. QSL via bureau.
MALAWI, 7Q Ely, IN3VZE, is signing 7Q7CE in SSB from Club Makokola at the southwest edge of Lake Malawi from Sep 4-21. Unfortunately QSL ONLY direct.
MARSHALL ISLANDS, V7 Bruce, AC4G, is signing V73CW from Kwajalein from Sep 8-13. QSL via AC4G.
MEXICO, XE, NA-162 XF1K will be the call of the DXpedition to Todos Santos Island (NA-162) from Sep 4-7. Ray, N6VR, Jim, N6KZ, David, N6AN/XE1NTT, Roman, XE2ED, Hector, XE2K, and Emigdio, XE2ZY, will be QRV with three stations in SSB/CW on 80-10m and 6m. QSL via N6AWD.
NORWAY, LA, EU-036 The Skandinavisk Radioklubb is visiting the island Stokkoya (EU-036) on Sep 6/7. They will work as LA3SRK/p in CW/SSB/RTTY/PSK31 on 10-160m (no WARC) about 5-10 kHz below the IOTA frequencies. QSL via SM5SIC.
SINGAPORE, 9V, AS-019 The special event call S61FD will be used by a station on St. John's Island (AS-019) from Sep 5-8. They will show up in CW/SSB/PSK31 on 10-160m but the main activities will take place on 80/160m. QSL via bureau.
SOUTH AFRICA, ZS Michael, NA5U, is travelling through southern Africa. He is signing ZS6/NA5U on Sep 4. From Sep 5-8 he will work as 3DA0MT from Swaziland. He will then return to South Africa until Sep 12. The main emphasis will be put in SSB/CW/RTTY on 12/17/30m. QSL via NA5U.
ST PETER and ST PAUL ROCKS, PY0/s, SA-014 Joca, PS7JN, is signing ZY0S from Sep 1-14. QSL via PS7JN.
SVALBARD, JW Once again Juergen, JW/DJ3KR, is active from Longyearbyen from Sep 8-15. JW/DJ3KR is working in CW only on 12m, 17m and 30m.
TOBAGO, 9Y, SA-009 Chris, DL1MGB, announced his activity from Tobago (SA-009). He plans to take part in some contests (e.g. WAE) signing 9Y4TBG (QSL via DL4MDO) during the contests and 9Y4/DL1MGB (QSL via homecall) during the rest of the time from Sep 4-18.
TURKEY, TA, AS-115 Thierry, TA4/F5SNY, and Christian, TA4/F8BOD, are on the air until Sep 8. They will make an extra trip to an island in the IOTA group AS-115 on Sep 5/6.
TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS, VP5 Dennis, K7BV, will be QRV mainly on 6m from Sep 9-16. If the magic band is closed he will work in CW and RTTY on HF. You can find more information on his website http://www.qth.com/k7bv/turks/. QSL via KU9C.
UKRAINE, UR To celebrate 100 years of international aviation and 85 years of aviation in Ukraine the clubstation UR4WWE is working from the airport in Lviv using the special event callsign EN100WAY (World Aviation Year) from Sep 1-30. WESTERN SAMOA, 5W Willi, DJ7RJ, is travelling through the South Pacific Ocean between Aug 27 and Oct 28. His first stop will be Western Samoa, other islands will be visited as well. The exact route, dates and callsigns were not announced.
